Deputy Minister of Science: Universities and Research Institutes Must Source Chemical Materials and Laboratory Equipment Domestically
The Deputy Minister for Research of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology stated that universities and research institutes are required to procure their needed chemical materials and laboratory equipment from domestic sources, and based on this, the Ministry of Science is the main customer of domestic production.
According to the Public Relations of Hafez Varesh Knowledge-Based Production Complex, Peyman Salehi said at the opening ceremony of the Seventh International Exhibition of Chemical Materials, Industries, Equipment, and Laboratory Services at Mosalla of Tehran: “In this edition, more than 130 companies producing chemical materials and laboratory equipment are present.”
Regarding the Ministry of Science’s support for exhibitors, he added: “In the first stage of its mission, the Ministry is responsible for training specialized human resources; accordingly, skilled professionals in various industries such as oil, gas, and chemical industries are trained in universities and research institutes, and afterward, they join companies.”
The Deputy Minister emphasized: “The Ministry of Science is the main customer of the companies participating in the chemical materials and laboratory equipment exhibition, because due to the activities carried out in the area of research and technology in universities, we have required universities and research institutes to use domestic products.”
Existence of 50 Science Parks, 240 Incubators, and 300 Innovation Centers
He stated that the technology and commercialization ecosystem is exceptionally strong, adding: “The Ministry of Science currently has more than 50 science and technology parks, 240 technology incubators, and over 300 innovation centers, and this entire ecosystem has been created so that scientific achievements can be commercialized and brought to the market.”
Salehi continued: “The Ministry of Science is obligated to move the research, studies, and technology ecosystem toward commercialization so that we achieve more results in production and create added value.”
He added: “We can not only achieve self-sufficiency in producing chemical materials and laboratory equipment, but also enter international markets and export our products to other countries.”
He concluded: “The exhibition of chemical materials, industries, equipment, and laboratory services is held annually with the aim of further improving products and services in these fields. It provides an opportunity for interested individuals and active companies in these industries to gather and present their best and newest products in line with the advancement of chemical industries and laboratory services.”
