Bio Granule

Bio granules, or biodegradable granules, are environmentally and soil compatible polymer materials. These plastics are often produced from renewable raw materials, microorganisms, or petrochemical sources and degrade faster than conventional plastics because they contain additives that attract microorganisms responsible for decomposition.

Bioplastic materials are derived from renewable resources such as vegetable oils, corn starch, wood chips, and food waste.

Bio granules also contain biodegradable materials. Biodegradable substances are composed of organic compounds containing carbon atoms. These materials are broken down by microorganisms into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass.
The biodegradation process generally consists of four stages:

  1. Biodeterioration: Initial physical and chemical changes such as discoloration and fragmentation.
  2. Biodegradation: Microorganisms break down polymers into simpler molecules.
  3. Assimilation: Simple molecules are absorbed by microorganisms as nutrients.
  4. Mineralization: Complete conversion of materials into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass.

Biodegradable materials help reduce waste generation and prevent soil and water pollution.
